My philosophy as a photographer is this: images must be memorable. They must capture an essence – elusive, enchanting, alluring.
I want people to feel a wistful longing for places they’ve never been. A sense of nostalgia for something distant, just out of reach.
That’s why I never shoot in studios. You’ll never capture genuine emotion there. Instead, I capture my subjects’ moods as they wander through the city, stroll along the shore collecting seashells, or lose themselves in what they love.
In my pictures, they become the lead character in a film – one their followers will watch, mesmerized and breathless.
My work includes collaborations with Solitary Garden at Monasterio Rave in Moscow, and Korean DJ Eve Violet in Tokyo. My work has taken me across the globe: Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Moscow, Vladivostok.
