About Me

At the Crossroads
I'm Angelina Latypova, and I travel to WTF(?) places in Russia.

Born at the crossroads of Russia, in the small town of Rtishchevo, I've visited hundreds of places.

Rtishchevo is a large railway junction — that's why it's called a crossroads. I guess this fact really shaped my fate

Rtishchevo
I was running from fierce stray dogs on the Kolyma Highway. I had tea in an abandoned prison 600 km from Magadan (local workers thought I was a mirage).

I sailed on a boat with convicts in Salekhard. I hitchhiked in Donbass
I lived in Ufa until I turned five. Then my family moved to Sochi, where I lived for another 13 years. At age 18, I went to Moscow.

I lived in Vladivostok for half a year, where I worked at a local news agency (I was rewriting articles with AI).

I've been painting since childhood. Here are some of my works
My endless journey in photography began at the age of 11, when my parents gave me my first camera — a Nikon D3000 — for International Women's Day. (Now they wish they never had.)

I ended up at the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University. It's located in front of the Kremlin. That was the reason I enrolled.

At 21, I ventured on my first journey. I went to Vladivostok right after the lectures. That's how my travels to WTF places in Russia began

After the graduation I traveled to Donbass as a freelance photojournalist for Russia Today. I followed the footsteps of my photography teacher Vladimir Vyatkin, a renowned Russian photojournalist.

Then I joined the production school of Nikolay Kartozia. He's one of the country's most famous producers.

I speak 3 languages: Russian, English and French and Tatar a bit (when drunk).

And pretty soon I'll start shooting documentaries

I wanna share my favourite quote with you

As we weave and unweave our bodies, from day to day, so does the artist weave and unweave his image
