Photohunter of the middle of nowhere
I‘m Angelina Latypova, a photographer, journalist and producer.
My journey in photography began at the age of 11, when my parents gave me my first camera — a Nikon D3000 — for International Women’s Day.
Eleven years later, in 2023, right after International Women's Day, I set off on the most dangerous adventure of my life.
I traveled to Donbass as a freelance photojournalist for Russia Today. Now my parents wish they never did this.
I took that decision right after graduating from the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University. My photography teacher there was Vladimir Vyatkin, a renowned photojournalist. He has covered conflict zones around the world. I followed in his footsteps.
Over the years, I‘ve been traveling to what I call “WTF places”— remote corners of Russia.
After returning from the Russian Far East, where I worked as a reporter, I joined the production school of Nikolay Kartozia. He's one of the country's most renowned producers. So now I know not just how to shoot, but how to turn it into a personal brand.
